2011 award winners
In support of our commitment to improve community health, each year, Premier seeks to recognize high-performing organizations – including members and suppliers – across the nation with a series of awards. The outstanding work of these organizations were recognized throughout Premier's 2011 Breakthroughs Conference and Exhibition, and were highlighted at our Awards Ceremony, on Wednesday, June 15 at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, TN.

Premier QUEST® Award for High Value Healthcare
The Premier QUEST Award for High Value Healthcare replaces the Award for
Quality this year. The honor will be awarded to the QUEST hospitals who were
able to achieve top performance in all five dimensions of QUEST: Cost,
Evidence-Based Care, Mortality, Harm, and Patient Experience. Honorable mentions
will also be presented to those hospitals who achieved top performance in the
original three QUEST measures (Cost, Evidence-Based Care, and Mortality).

2010 Premier Award for Quality
Premier Supply Chain Excellence Award
The Supply Chain Excellence Award honors top performers based on member submissions to Premier’s SupplyFocus tool.
Hospitals will be placed into one of six peer groups: Community (both fewer and greater than 182 beds), Teaching/academic (both fewer and greater than 310 beds), Critical Access and IDNs. Performance will be measured by using a blend of four CMI-adjusted ratios. The two hospitals with the highest overall ranking in each peer group will receive awards, plus an honorable mention in each category. Additionally, one facility will receive the "Most Improved" award.

Premier Supply Chain Innovation Award
The Supply Chain Innovation Award recognizes members who have worked with
Premier to introduce the most innovative, high-impact supply chain improvement
ideas to membership, or have further distinguished the competitive advantage of
the alliance by inspiring more members to introduce and/or actively support
development of innovative supply chain improvement ideas.

Premier Illuminating Excellence Award
The Illuminating Excellence award recognizes an outstanding foodservice professional to reign as Premier's foodservice director of the year. This prestigious award will be presented during the annual Culinary Creations Dinner at the Foodservice Forum.

Premier Diversity Award
Premier's Member Diversity Recognition Award honors those hospitals and health systems that have established, as a part of their social responsibility initiatives, active programs to evaluate and support minority-, women-, veteran-owned, within their local communities and contracted suppliers available through the Premier contract portfolio.
Premier's Supplier Diversity Recognition Award recognizes contracted suppliers who have made important contributions in developing and nurturing diversity programs in their organizations and healthcare communities within the Premier membership alliance.
Both Diversity Recognition Awards are selected through an application process that measures organizational engagement in supplier diversity initiatives through community involvement, diversity business outreach initiatives, benchmarking and best practices sharing.

Premier Pinnacle Award and Performance Award
Premier's Pinnacle and Performance Awards applaud the efforts of contracted suppliers in meeting or exceeding our operational expectations. In selecting recipients, performance data is collected and scored over four successive calendar quarters.

Premier AEIX Risk Management Award
The AEIX Risk Management award recognizes representatives of AEIX member organizations who have created practices which reduce liability and enhance quality of care. Winners are selected based on the practice's effectiveness, and its potential applicability to other health care settings, as well as the metrics used to assess effectiveness. American Excess Insurance Exchange, RRG, (AEIX) is an excess professional liability program serving Premier owners, and managed by Premier Insurance Management Services, Inc. since 1990.

Premier Polaris Award
The Polaris Award recognizes the Pinnacle and Performance supplier winners that exceed the expectations of Premier and its members by delivering high relationship value and customer service to member hospitals.
